Khaldiya Mustafa

Khaldiya Mustafa began her career as a substitute teacher for K-8 grades in Passaic, New Jersey, in 1993. In 1999, she continued as a full-time teacher at Al-Hikmah Elementary School, teaching first grade for four years and kindergarten for one year.

 

In 2001, Mustafa earned her K-12 School Teacher Certificate from William Paterson University. She was appointed principal at Al-Hikmah Elementary School in 2004 and then completed her master's degree in Educational Technology from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2005, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. In 2007, she took on the roles of principal and director of guidance and special education at Al-Ghazaly Middle and High School, providing college counseling, career and college planning for high school students. She also served as the Exam Coordinator at the College Board for AP/PSAT/SAT and Terra Nova exams.

 

She has collaborated with the Morris Special Services Commission to support students with special education needs, guiding special education staff and teachers to help students adapt.

 

Working in coordination with the City of Prospect Park and Wayne Board of Education, she managed the procurement processes for needs assessments, textbooks, teacher resources, educational materials, and professional development resources.

 

Mustafa has served as a staff mentor and Coordinator of the Alternate Route Program to assist teachers in obtaining the NJ State Teacher Certification and License. She has also worked as AP Program Coordinator and SAT Test Center Supervisor. Additionally, she developed a partnership with FDU Middle College Credit Program and PCCC, providing students with the opportunity to earn college credits during high school.

 

She has worked in areas such as education, literacy, mathematics, science, classroom management, multiculturalism and diversity, and with individuals and families with learning disabilities. She has attended numerous teacher development courses, conferences, and workshops.

 

Mustafa has prepared and presented workshops and webinars on the college application and preparation process for schools, NGOs, students, and parents at her schools.

 

She has developed strategic plans for curriculum improvement in schools and plans to improve individual and group student performance. She is currently working with Cognia on school accreditation.
