Ruşen Ahmet Albayrak

Born in Istanbul in 1966, Dr. Ruşen Ahmet Albayrak graduated from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Istanbul Technical University in 1988. He received his Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Business from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (USA) in 1993, and in 2007 earned his Doctorate at Istanbul Technical University, Institute of Social Sciences, with his research in Technology Management. 

He entered the Participation Banking sector 36 years ago and has been serving as an Executive Vice President at Kuveyt Türk since 2005. Until October 2012, he managed the Banking Services Group, which included IT, Operations, Administrative Affairs, Human Resources, and Strategy. As of that date, he was appointed as the Executive Vice President responsible for Treasury, Investment, and International Banking. Since January 2025, he has been serving as the Executive Vice President in charge of Corporate and Commercial Banking at Kuveyt Türk. He is also a Board Member of two Kuveyt Türk subsidiaries: KT Bank AG in Germany and Kuveyt Türk Yatırım A.Ş. 

Alongside his professional career, Dr. Albayrak has long been active in NGOs and charitable organizations, serving in various positions as Chairman and Board Member. He is a founding board member of the Hamilik School Foundation (Hamilik Okulu Vakfı) and currently chairs the Human and Management Dirlik, the Bosnia Yiğitlik Meydanı, the Executive Board of the Entrepreneurship Center, and the Dirlik Companies Research Project within the Foundation. 

He has taught courses on Participation Banking theory and practice at Sakarya University and Marmara University and has authored academic publications. He also served a term as a member of the Governance and Ethics Board” of AAOIFI, the international standard-setting organization for Islamic Finance. Dr. Albayrak speaks fluent English and has basic knowledge of Arabic. He is married and has three children. 

He represented the Hamilik School Foundation on the organizing committee of the Ahilik Council held in Ankara on December 2–4, 2022, by the Ahi Evran Anatolian Entrepreneurship Research Center of Ostim Technical University, and authored the paper titled “Dirlik Institutions in the Council’s publication.
