Istanbul Education Summit

The Istanbul Education Summit is an international platform organized by Turkish Maarif Foundation to explore future perspectives in education, institutional approaches, and innovative practices. Bringing together participants from all over the world, the summit is held annually, either online or in person, to discuss developments in education.

With the participation of academics, policymakers, experts, teachers, decision-makers, and education administrators, the Istanbul Education Summit aims to provide an international perspective on the field of education. In line with this goal:

To become a platform that brings together international actors in education and offers both theoretical and practical solutions to educational challenges.

Each year, the summit focuses on a specific theme under which various topics are discussed. In addition, “Good Practices in Education” are showcased with contributions from Maarif Schools. The event also features an exhibition of photographs from the Maarif International Photography Contest, with the winners announced during the summit.

Launched online in 2021 with the theme "New Trends and Transformation in Education", the first summit was followed by the second, held in Istanbul under the theme "The Future of School: Post-Pandemic Needs of Education." The third summit, titled "Leading Change in Education," focused on transformative educational leadership and was held in person.

Shaped around the theme "Education for a Fair and Equitable Society for a Sustainable Future," the fourth Istanbul Education Summit brought together academics and experts in an online format.
