Ricardo Sabates Aysa is a Professor in Education and International Development at the Faculty of Education. He is a trained economist with PhD in Development Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of the Research for Equitable Access and Learning (REAL) and Centre and the Cambridge Network for Disability and Education Research (CaNDER). His area of research focuses on educational inequalities in access and learning, primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia. His work has been influential in understanding inequality patterns in educational access, second-chance opportunities in education for marginalised children, and cost-effectiveness and equity in education.
