Lidra Meidani

Lidra Meidani was born on September 17, 1954, in Tirana, Albania. She speaks Italian and English.

 Meidani completed her undergraduate studies in the Mathematics Department at the University of Tirana from 1973 to 1977. She earned her master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Tirana in 1986.

 Her professional career began in 1977 as a Mathematics Teacher at N. Rushiti High School in Peshkopi. Until 1981, she served as a mathematics teacher in various schools. In 1981, she began working as a Mathematics Teacher at Ismail Qemali High School in Tirana, where she also took on the role of Head of the Mathematics Department.

 From 1998 to 2014, Meidani served as Vice Principal at Ismail Qemali High School. Since 2014, she has been the principal at New York High School, and since 2019, she has also served as the principal at New York Basic Education Elementary School.

 In addition to her work in education, Meidani has played an active role in social and community issues. She was a member of the Tirana Municipal Council from 2000 to 2003. She also served as the President of the YAPS (Youth Albania Professional Services) Social Enterprise Foundation from 2000 to 2002 and has continued to support the foundation as an Honorary Member since 2002. She was an Honorary Member of the Albanian Children’s Foundation from 1999 to 2006. Meidani has participated in numerous international conferences on women’s and children’s issues, sharing her expertise and experience on these topics.
