Akodah Ayewoudan

Professor Akodah Ayewoudan is a tenured Full Professor of Law, specialized in Private Law and Criminal Sciences, and a member of the agrégation of law faculties. He
holds a distinguished position within the Togolese academic and institutional landscape, as well as in the wider Francophone scholarly community.
He earned his Doctorate in Private Law and Criminal Sciences in 2010, graduating with highest honors and the congratulations of the jury. His doctoral dissertation focused on the
renewal of contract law in the digital age. Professor Ayewoudan also holds the Certificate of Aptitude for the Legal Profession (CAPA), in addition to a university certificate
in management.
Since 2013, he has served as a lecturer–researcher at the University of Lomé, where he teaches civil law, OHADA business law, digital law, arbitration and mediation, investment
law, land law, and criminal law. He has held several major academic responsibilities, including Head of the Department of Private Law (2016–2018), Director of Service Provision
at the University of Lomé (2016–2019), Director of the Master’s Program in Private Law (2018–2022), and Director of the Institute of Maritime Professions.
Professor Ayewoudan’s expertise extends well beyond Togo. He is regularly invited as a visiting professor at various universities across West Africa and serves as Associate
Professor at Laval University (Québec). He has also been a visiting scholar at the University of Paris 1 Sorbonne. Furthermore, he acts as an arbitrator and mediator within both national and international arbitration and mediation institutions.
From 2020 to 2023, he served as Minister of Communication and Media and Spokesperson of the Government of the Togolese Republic. This role allowed him to deepen his experience in public governance, institutional communication, media regulation, and public affairs management.
Professor Akodah Ayewoudan continues to pursue his activities in teaching, research, and advisory expertise, consistently contributing to the strengthening of the legal and institutional framework in Togo and across the subregion.
